Forbes released a list this week of 100 “America’s Most Promising Companies.” The list was filled with an amazing amount of advertising technology companies – 19 in total. An ad technology company was even No. 1 on the list. All in all, it supplies further proof of the increasing importance of data-driven digital marketing.

Here are the 19 digital marketing companies that were on the Forbes list:

No. 23 Elemental Technologies, which reformats TV content for the Internet and mobile devices.

No. 28 Yodle, which “helps local businesses with online advertising, lead generation and search engine optimization.”

No. 30 AdRoll, which helps marketers with retargeting programs.

No. 50 BlueKai, which is a data management platform.

No55 Phizzle, which helps marketers with interactive mobile campaigns.

No. 62 Bizo, which helps b2b marketers identify and target prospects online.

No. 64, Neolane, which helps marketers run their digital campaigns.

No. 67 Local Response, which is designed to help marketers target customers based on their social media activity.

No. 71 Media6Degree, which “helps brands target Web users most likely to buy their products.”

No. 75 Usablenet, which helps marketers move their Web presence to mobile devices.

No. 82 Act-On Software, which helps companies use to data to improve email and social media campaigns.

No. 86 Livestream, which “sells hardware and software for broadcasting live video over the Internet.”

No. 93 Crowdtap, which helps develop contests and other programs for social media.

No. 98 Ontraport, which sells software that helps small businesses manage their digital marketing programs.
